Webinar: Integrating AI into the clinical lab

The reality of AI in today’s healthcare information ecosystem is very different from the artificial personalities envisioned by science fiction. Instead of a single central HAL-like intelligent agent, we are seeing little drops of intelligence scattered throughout the network of business processes. Stan Letovsky is a vice president in the IT organization at Labcorp where he leads the Center of Excellence in AI, Data Sciences, and Bioinformatics. A native of Montreal, he received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Yale, and did post-doctoral research at Carnegie-Mellon University. Since then he has worked for Accenture’s research division, operated a bioinformatics consulting business, served as an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes, where he ran the Genome Database (GDB) project and participated in Decade of the Brain research, and has headed the bioinformatics organizations of Monsanto, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Codon Devices (a gene synthesis startup), Helicos BioSciences (a single-molecule sequencing company), and SynapDx (an autism diagnostics startup), where he was CIO.
