Building off last year’s successful CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired program, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) made several improvements in 2019 that will help healthcare organizations meet the highest standards in patient care. This year, CHIME added an ambulatory survey and expanded international outreach to capture best practices around the world. The response was tremendous: 16,165 facilities were represented this year.
Another improvement this year is the addition of a performance excellence certification system using a Level 1-10 scale to more accurately represent participants’ overall performance, based on their survey responses. Participants who scored in the 91-100% range received Level 10; in the 81-90% range, Level 9, and so forth.
This issue recognizes Most Wired participants that earned Level 7-10 certification. Recipients are listed by level, with separate lists for hospitals and ambulatory facilities. They represent those who are making great strides using technology to improve health and care in their communities.
Three outstanding healthcare systems qualified for Level 10 certification this year. This is an extraordinary feat; less than 1 percent of healthcare organizations who participated in the hospital survey can claim this honor. Another 8% of total participants reached Level 9; and 25% and 30% of total participants qualified for Levels 8 and 7, respectively.
Congratulations to every healthcare organization that received Most Wired recognition this year. By driving change in the IT industry, you are making people’s lives safer, healthier and infinitely better. We appreciate all that you have done, and we know you will continue to press for excellence in the future.
