Barbara McClenathan

Barbara is vice president of nursing with Surgical Directions. She has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, specifically in perioperative and procedural area care management, leadership, organizational and business development, policy formulation, communications and financing.

For 10 years, Barbara served as the director of perioperative services at a 501-bed not-for-profit acute care and trauma medical center; a 367-bed teaching hospital; and a for-profit 288-bed community hospital. As a perioperative consultant, she has facilitated and implemented process-improvement and cost-savings initiatives in facilities including one of the largest Level 1 trauma centers in the South, one of the largest medical centers in the West, and an 18-hospital system on the East Coast.

Barbara is a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). She maintains membership in the Leadership Specialty Assemblies through AORN and serves as a member of the AORN Journal peer review panel.

Eric Hartlauf

Eric has 20-plus years of healthcare supply chain, consulting and product development experience. He has worked from all angles of healthcare, including community hospitals, a large academic medical center, medical device manufacturing, distribution and third-party logistics, healthcare IT, and outsourced sterile processing.

Eric is currently working in the healthcare enterprise resource planning (ERP) and consulting space. Most recently, he exited a startup he co-founded providing local, last-mile sterile logistics for orthopedic and spine instrumentation. Prior to establishing that company, he spent five years in product and service line development for one of the big three healthcare distributors. He also spent time working on the perioperative strategy team for one of the two big EHRs. Eric’s career began on the provider side, where he spent more than a decade overseeing inventory management across all perioperative departments for a large academic medical center in downtown Chicago. In that role, he led a variety of LEAN initiatives, developing and implementing various solutions and creating partnerships with clinicians to improve supply chain service levels and reduce costs.

M. Trevor Bennett is associate vice president of operations for Providence Swedish, Central Puget Sound. Providence Swedish is the largest healthcare delivery system in Western Washington. Trevor brings more than 20 years of experience in surgical and perioperative services to acute care. Prior to joining Providence Swedish, he served as the director of perioperative services at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he led the redesign and load balancing of perioperative services throughout the Finger Lake's Region in New York. Trevor received a master's degree from William Carey University in Mississippi after serving 10 years in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Tacoma, Wash., at Joint Base Lewis – McChord.
