Mary Ellen Podmolik guides the editorial strategy of Modern Healthcare and oversees its newsroom. A longtime business journalist, Mary Ellen worked at the Chicago Tribune from 2008 to 2021, serving as a business reporter and editor before moving to the Tribune's masthead as a director of content and business editor. She previously worked at a number of other media companies on both a full-time and freelance basis, including the Chicago Sun-Times and two Crain’s titles, Crain’s Chicago Business and Ad Age. She has a journalism degree from Marquette University.
