Why preventing gun deaths should be a strategic priority. A conversation. Modern Healthcare. Sponsored by Northwell Health.

Even amid a pandemic that kept many Americans isolated, gun-related deaths reached a new high of 43,530 in 2020, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Nearly all of these deaths are avoidable. So, should health systems invest in preventing them and addressing their root cause, like they do for medical conditions?

Leaders at Northwell Health, Intermountain Healthcare and Sinai Chicago think so. Despite serving in communities with distinct challenges and varying gun cultures, all three health systems are dedicating significant resources towards this issue. In this webinar, we’ll talk to executives about why they’ve made curbing gun-related deaths a strategic priority, addressing the impact on staff, patient outcomes and hospital operations.

    Join this webinar to:

    • Hear why leaders are investing time and resources into addressing gun-related deaths
    • Learn how to address the specific root causes in your community, whether they be tied to mental health or cultural challenges
    • Gain strategies for navigating the divisive politics of this issue
