Walgreens' VillageMD is adding Nevada to the list of states where it is closing clinics.
The primary care provider will close five clinics in Nevada to exit the state, effective April 30.

It marks at least the seventh state where VillageMD has sold, closed or plans to close clinics this year, bringing the total to more than 100 clinics. The closures stem from parent company Walgreens' $1 billion cost-cutting plan implemented late last year, which also involved cuts in the pharmacy division and capital spending.
A spokesperson for VillageMD did not respond to requests for comment.
It's been a tumultuous time for VillageMD since Walgreens invested $5.2 billion in 2021 to take a majority stake in the primary care provider. Executives once touted ambitious plans to roll out hundreds of Village Medical clinics attached to Walgreens stores.
In January, VillageMD closed three clinics in New Hampshire, 10 sites in Jacksonville, Florida, and all 12 of its clinics in Indiana. It shuttered 12 Massachusetts clinics in February. Earlier this month, VillageMD closed all Florida locations and sold 11 Rhode Island clinics to Boston-based Arches Medical Partners. Next month, it plans to close all its Illinois clinics.
As of May 1, VillageMD will have clinics in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey and Texas, barring additional closures.
