Senior living company The Ensign Group acquired eight skilled nursing facilities across Colorado and Kansas in two separate deals, the company announced Tuesday.
The Ensign Group acquired the operations of seven Colorado nursing homes for an undisclosed amount, according to a news release.
The facilities previously operated by Recover-Care West of Fort Collins, Colorado, include Desert Willow Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pueblo, Junction Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Durango, Pelican Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Windsor, Riverbend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Loveland, Broadview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greeley, Westlake Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greeley and Linden Place Health and Rehabilitation Center in Longmont.

The acquisitions were effective Sept. 1 and are subject to long-term leases, The Ensign Group said in the release.
In a separate deal, the San Juan Capistrano, California-based company said it acquired Prairie Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Overland Park, Kansas, effective Sept. 1. The acquisition is also subject to a long-term lease, according to a news release.
The combined deals will expand the company's reach in both Colorado and Kansas, where it already operates 35 skilled nursing facilities.
The Ensign Group has been actively acquiring skilled nursing homes this year, adding a total of 23 facilities across Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. The company is one of the nation’s largest operators of senior living facilities, with more than 300 operations across 14 states.
