Decked out in dresses, tiaras, ties and boutonnieres, 46 teens with medically complex conditions had the opportunity to experience a coming-of-age tradition: prom.
It’s an event that teens with medically complex conditions often miss out on, said Pat Tursi, CEO at Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center in Yonkers, N.Y. The center aims to right that wrong and hosted its 10th annual prom earlier this month to treat their patients with an event they deserve.
