With Hurricane Dorian looming off Florida as Kay Lisa McCloud and Anthony Davis headed to the delivery room, they decided to preserve the moment in their baby boy’s name.
Tadashi Dorian Davis was born at 11:07 a.m. Sept. 2 at AdventHealth DeLand. The new arrival weighed in at 4 pounds, 8 ounces.
“I was hoping he would wait until after the hurricane!” McCloud said. “This is a storm I definitely won’t forget.”
On Sept. 4, the family headed to their DeLand home, which was unharmed by the storm; the town suffered minor damage. Dorian devastated the Bahamas and had originally been predicted to make landfall in Florida, but instead stayed offshore as its course shifted toward the Carolinas.
