Humana’s CenterWell Senior Primary Care will expand into three new markets this spring and add locations in five existing markets later in the year, the company announced Tuesday.
The Louisville, Kentucky-based company said clinics opening in Asheville, North Carolina, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and New Orleans will begin seeing patients in late spring or early summer. Humana has not yet set a timeline for opening additional clinics in Indianapolis, Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackson, Mississippi, Orlando, Florida, and Richmond, Virginia. However, the company said it hoped to have those locations operating by the end of 2024.

The New Orleans and Baton Rouge clinics will also offer in-home services through CenterWell’s Primary Care Anywhere initiative that Humana announced last summer. In-home care is also offered in Atlanta, Savannah and Columbus, Georgia.
Humana is continuing to bet big on primary care. The company said it has set a goal of opening 30 to 50 new CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinics across the United States by the end of 2025. CenterWell Senior Primary Care and its sister brand, Conviva Care Center, currently offer health services to approximately 295,000 older adults in nearly 300 centers across 17 states.
CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinics operate under a value-based care model that ties provider payments to care delivery and quality.
