The office is led by Dr. Steven Tucker, an American oncologist living in Singapore who will collaborate with clinicians and medical researchers in Southeast Asia, the health system said.
Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai said it plans to open additional international sites in Qatar and Ecuador. It also has operations in Mexico City and Shanghai.
Other health providers, including Mayo Clinic, have made international moves in recent years.
Mayo Clinic partnered with United Arab Emirates-based Abu Dhabi Health Services Company in 2020 to launch Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City. In January, it sold its shares in the hospital to Pure Health, a UAE-based health network for $150 million.
