The Federal Trade Commission wants the public to suggest regulations to revoke as part of President Donald Trump's far-reaching deregulation agenda.
The FTC issued a formal request for information seeking suggestions for federal rules deemed 'anticompetitive' as a follow up to an executive order Trump signed last Wednesday. Submissions are due May 27.

“Regulations that reduce competition, entrepreneurship and innovation can hamper the American economy,” FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson said in a news release. “These need to be eliminated or modified to revitalize a competitive market.”
The executive order requires federal agencies to identify regulations that reduce competition. The FTC is tasked with presenting the White House Office of Management and Budget with a list of regulations to repeal by mid-September.
Trump signed a separate executive order in January directing agencies to toss 10 regulations for each new one proposed. In addition, the White House's "Department of Government Efficiency" is in the midst laying off tens of thousands of government employees and the Health and Human Services Department is conducting a major reorganization under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
