Dr. David Lubarsky will leave UC Davis Health next year to lead Westchester County Health Care Corporation.
Lubarsky, the vice chancellor of human health sciences and CEO of the Sacramento, California-based academic health system, joined UC Davis in 2018. He will start his new role on Feb. 17 as president and CEO of Valhalla, New York-based Westchester, where Lubarsky had an internship early in his career, according to a Wednesday news release.

Lubarsky will succeed Michael Israel, who will retire after nearly two decades at the nine-hospital nonprofit health system.
UC Davis Medical Center, the flagship hospital of the $4.5 billion system, reported an operating loss of $3.8 million on operating revenue of $3.78 billion in its 2024 fiscal year ended June 30. The medical center recorded an operating loss of $154.1 million on operating revenue of $3.43 billion the prior fiscal year.
Westchester reported operating income of $35.5 million on operating revenue of $1.6 billion through the nine months ended Sept. 30. The health system reported operating income of $51.7 million on operating revenue of $1.52 billion over the same period the prior year.
