Greg Adams, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals
Greg Adams, chair and CEO of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals, leads the nation's largest integrated health system, with 40 hospitals, nearly 24,000 physicians, more than 215,000 employees, 12.6 million health plan members and around $100 billion in annual operating revenue. Under his leadership, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals announced plans in April to acquire Geisinger Health and form a nonprofit entity that would buy health systems and create a national network for value-based care named Risant Health. The proposed purchase, which requires regulatory approval, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024. If successful, the pending acquisition and formation of Risant Health may serve as a model for other health systems seeking to create or expand a national footprint.
