Hawaii's largest hospital company has promoted three executives, including new chief operating officer and executive vice president Darlena Chadwick, the Queen's Health System announced Thursday.
Chadwick has been with the health system since 2005, most recently as senior vice president and COO of the Queen’s Medical Center of West Oahu in Ewa Beach. In addition, the Honolulu-based nonprofit company named Jason Chang the first president of the forthcoming Queen’s Health System Innovation Institute and executive vice president of innovation and strategy. Dr. George “Rick” Bruno, president of Queen’s University Medical Group, is now also president of the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
"These leaders share a common passion for reaching the highest levels of reliability, quality and safety in care delivery," President and CEO Jill Hoggard Green said in a news release. "Leveraging their strengths will accelerate Queen’s goal of being a lifetime partner to those we serve and ensure we continue to fulfill our mission of improving the health and well-being of Native Hawaiians and all the people of Hawaii."
The Queen's Health System operates 70 sites, including four hospitals on the islands of Oahu, Molokai and Hawaii. The company bills itself as Hawaii's largest employer, with 10,000 people on staff. The health system reported $10.8 million in operating income for fiscal 2021, according to its most recent audited financial statement.
