Priority Health has named Nick Gates its interim president effective Thursday.
Gates, the company's senior vice president of finance, will succeed Praveen Thadani, who is stepping down and will act as an advisor until June 13, the health plan said Monday. The company said it plans to conduct a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.

Priority Health declined an interview request.
Gates started at Priority Health in 2004 and has served in a variety of finance and leadership roles. Thadani has been president since 2021.
The company, a subsidiary of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Corewell Health, offers health plans for employer groups and individuals, including Medicaid and Medicare. It has more than 1.3 million members in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
