Brian Dietz, president and CEO of Macomb, Illinois-based McDonough District Hospital, has been suspended by the hospital's board, pending an internal investigation into unspecified allegations.
The suspension with pay began Dec. 28 and will last until Feb. 5, according to a hospital news release. Two board members and legal counsel for the 48-bed hospital will conduct the investigation.
“The board of directors take all allegations against this hospital seriously, as shown by the unanimous vote [Jan. 2, 2024] related to the process of the investigation,” Jere Greuel, board chair, said in the news release. “Since this will be an on-going review of a personnel matter we will have no further comment until the conclusion of our investigation.”
William Murdock, chief financial officer and vice president, will serve as interim CEO.
Dietz began his career at McDonough in June 2018 as interim CEO before becoming president and CEO in April 2019.
