SSM Health announced Thursday a senior advisor who served as its chief financial officer for 17 years is retiring from the not-for-profit health system.
Kris Zimmer, who transitioned from CFO in November 2019 into a senior advisory role, will leave the organization effective July 13, St. Louis-based SSM said in a news release.
"As a member of the senior leadership team, Zimmer has been instrumental over the years in the growth an evolution of the health ministry from a small hospital system to the complex integrated healthcare delivery system it is today—with total assets exceeding $9 billion," SSM said in the release.
SSM's board has named Randy Combs as the health system's treasurer. Combs currently serves as interim CFO.
Zimmer joined SSM as CFO in 2003. His work has included supporting several important acquisitions and growing SSM's business functions, including its recent partnership with Costco. The wholesale retailer announced in March it was buying a stake in the SSM-owned pharmacy benefit manager Navitus Health Solutions.
