Jefferson Health is making changes to its leadership team's responsibilities as the system integrates with Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Jefferson President Dr. Baligh Yehia is expanding his role to oversee the combined system's growth and clinical integration across three legacy Jefferson regions and two legacy Lehigh Valley regions. Dr. Brian Nester, chief operating officer at Jefferson and former president and CEO at Lehigh Valley, is COO of the enterprise. He oversees Jefferson Health Plans, ambulatory services, facilities and joint venture businesses, the system said Tuesday.

Mark Whalen, formerly the chief strategy and administrative officer at Jefferson, was named chief strategy and transformation officer. Annette White, special enterprise counsel, is taking over as chief administrative officer and will oversee human capital and real estate, the system said.
Leadership changes are effective immediately.
Jefferson and Lehigh Valley closed their merger in August, creating a $15 billion system with 32 hospitals and more than 700 locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The combined system said it has more than 60 projects underway to integrate clinical and operational areas.
