GE HealthCare announced Wednesday it has appointed Jeannette Bankes as president and CEO of its patient care solutions business.
Bankes is replacing Tom Westrick, who has served at the company for over 20 years. She will assume the role on May 1, while Westrick will remain with the company until May 31 to support her transition.

The patient care solutions business sells patient monitoring systems, anesthesia delivery equipment, respiratory care technology, diagnostic cardiology tools, and maternal and infant care products.
Bankes previously served as president and senior vice president of global franchises at medtech eye care company Alcon. There she ran product development, portfolio management and the commercialization of products within the global surgical, vision care and ocular health businesses.
Before Alcon, Bankes spent 15 years at Boston Scientific, where she held a number of leadership positions. She started her career at Merck, with roles in sales, marketing and clinical and biological manufacturing.
