Atrium Health hired Andy Crowder as its new chief information and analytics officer, the not-for-profit health system announced Thursday.
Crowder was the chief information officer for San Diego, Calif.-based Scripps Health and previously held a similar position at Maine Health. He will take over on July 15 for interim Chief Information and Analytics Officer Jonathan Bowers, who held the post since early 2018 when Craig Richardville left the company.
"As information and analytics play an increasingly vital role in caring for our patients, we are fortunate to have an innovative and forward-thinking leader like Andy join us to advance our mission," Anthony DeFurio, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Atrium Health, said in a statement.
Atrium, formerly Carolinas HealthCare System, reported an operating income of $230.9 million on operating revenue of $6.22 billion in 2018, up from $227.2 million of operating income on operating revenue of $5.96 billion in 2017.
Atrium, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Wake Forest University signed a memorandum of understanding to merge in April, which would create a 49-hospital system. Atrium and Navicent Health completed their merger in January.
