AtlantiCare President and CEO Lori Herndon will retire in June, the nonprofit health system announced Wednesday.
Herndon, who started her career as a critical care nurse 40 years ago, has led the Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey-based health system since 2016. The company's board will begin an internal and external search for a successor “who can build upon AtlantiCare’s success as an independent health system,” Chair David Goddard said in a news release.
AtlantiCare operates two hospitals and a health insurance plan. The health system recorded $14.5 million in operating income on $756.8 million in revenue through the third quarter o 2022, according to its most recent unaudited financial statement. That was up from $9.8 million in operating income on $713.5 million in revenue over the same period the prior year.
