As of January 3, 2021, Dr. Strumwasser has assumed additional responsibilities and duties associated with the newly expanded Dignity Health, Northern California Division. The Northern California Division now includes 13 Dignity Health hospitals and ancillary facilities, including four hospitals in the Bay Area, three in the North State, and now six hospitals in the Greater Sacramento area. As a physician executive, Dr. Strumwasser’s highest priorities are continuing to improve safety practices and the patient experience. In 2015, Dr. Strumwasser joined Dignity Health as senior vice president of operations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to joining Dignity Health, Dr. Strumwasser spent 27 years at Swedish Health Services in Seattle as chief of staff, chief operating officer, and chief executive.
