Our annual ranking of the 100 Most Influential Leaders in Healthcare marks the 20th year for the list.
In a reflection of an evolving industry, the list has gone from recognizing executives at mostly provider and payer organizations to including outside influencers and leaders at nontraditional companies. Some of the external disrupters have promised to change the industry, only to realize that healthcare is indeed “complicated.”
The rankings have also been controversial for its diversity or lack of it, or for highlighting people who had a negative impact on the industry (who said influence is only positive?).
