FAQs
The previous distinctions of Top 25, Women to Watch and Luminaries have been replaced by three new categories: Women Leaders, Rising Stars and Vanguard.
1. The Women Leaders category will honor women who serve in leadership roles at organizations from all sectors of the healthcare industry, and who have never previously been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women Leaders or Luminary.
2. The Rising Stars category will honor women who have made a noteworthy impact in healthcare, regardless of role or seniority.
3. The Vanguard award will be given to one distinguished woman per year, selected for career-long impact on the industry and the advancement of opportunities for future generations of women. There is no nomination process for this category.
To bring attention to a greater number and wider variety of outstanding women in healthcare, anyone who has previously been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women Leaders will be ineligible for nomination in 2024 and beyond. Individuals acknowledged as Women to Watch by Modern Healthcare are still eligible, but only if they were not previously recognized as a Top 25 Woman in a subsequent year.
Yes, more than one person from the same organization can be selected as an honoree. Each must be submitted as a separate nomination.
No, multiple nominations for one individual do not influence the selection process in any way.
There is no nomination process for the Vanguard award. Rather, each year, the honoree will be chosen by the editors of Modern Healthcare based on overall career achievements. Each year’s Vanguard honoree may or may not come from the current year’s pool of nominees, and may be someone who has previously been recognized in a different category, (e.g., Top 25 Women Leaders).
Honorees are selected by the editors of Modern Healthcare. Nomination does not guarantee selection.
The honorees will be notified on Monday, February 12, 2024. This notification will include an embargoed press release template and information regarding licensing, congratulatory ads and awards and certificates.
No, we will not notify those who did not make the list.
Modern Healthcare lists the title "Dr." only for honorees who have completed either a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
