The 100 Most Influential People in healthcare awards and recognition program honors individuals in healthcare who are determined by the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential individuals in the industry in terms of leadership and impact.

We welcome entries for this annual program from all health industry sectors, including — but not limited to — hospitals, health systems, providers, insurers, associations, government agencies, investment firms, technology companies, vendors, academics, supplier organizations and patients’ rights groups.

Key Dates & Deadlines
July 29, 2024 - Nominations open
October 7, 2024 - Nominations close at 11:59 PM PT
December 9, 2024 - Honorees published online and in MH magazine

 

Process
To submit a nomination, complete the online application consisting of three business-related questions:

1. Describe specific actions the nominee has taken in the past year to help the organization meet clinical, operational and financial goals, and the measurable results that were achieved.

2. Describe specific steps the nominee has taken in the past year to improve the organization’s culture, such as through workforce retention or employee development programs, and the measurable results that were achieved.

3. Describe specific actions the nominee has taken in the past year outside of the organization to be a leading voice in the industry, including efforts to effect change at a local or national level that benefit patients and communities.

The ranking of the 100 Most Influential People will be determined by the senior editors of Modern Healthcare. Please limit responses to 150 words each.

Required Materials/Documentation
A current resume and headshot is required for submission, in addition to answering the three business-related questions.

How much does it cost to nominate?
The nomination fee is $199. You may nominate multiple individuals, but each must be a separate entry with its own nomination fee. Payment does not guarantee inclusion as an honoree.

FAQs
Do nominees have to work at hospitals, health systems or health insurance companies?

No. We welcome nominations from all sectors in the healthcare industry. In addition to hospitals, health systems and payers, this includes — but is not limited to — associations, government agencies, investment firms, technology companies, vendors, academics, supplier organizations and patients’ rights groups.

Can an individual make the list more than once?

Yes, honorees from previous years can be selected again if they are nominated for the current year’s program.

Can more than one individual from the same organization make the list?

Yes, more than one person from the same organization can be selected as an honoree. Each must be submitted as a separate nomination.

When will the honorees be notified?

The honorees will be notified during the week of November 11, 2024. This notification will include an embargoed press release template and information regarding licensing, congratulatory ads and awards and certificates.

Will I be notified if my nominee does not make the list?

No, we will not notify those who did not make the list.

Why is the title “Dr.” not listed for an honoree who has a doctoral degree?

Modern Healthcare lists the title "Dr." only for honorees who have completed either a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
