The car is packed. Tears have been wiped away. The dates for parents weekend, homecoming, graduation were input into the calendar. Millions of young adults are heading to college over the coming weeks, and with them, their healthcare issues. The Affordable Care Act allows parents to keep dependents on their health plan until the child reaches the age of 26. Most colleges and universities require students to have some form of health insurance, and many offer their own plans. But some students still lack coverage.
