Serving some of the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles County, L.A. Care Health Plan has had to confront many of the downstream effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Chief among those has been an increase in food insecurity, according to CEO John Baackes. The large public insurer increased support for members who lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic.
