The virus is on the rise once more in the U.K., which has recorded almost 42,000 COVID-19 deaths, with confirmed daily infections hitting a record-high 6,634 on Thursday, though deaths remain far below their April peak.
Dr. Deborah Birx said she has been on a heavy travel schedule, but said that is crucial to understanding the nation's response. She said she had been in about 28 states, including more than 15 universities, in the last three months.
The rule allows states to import drugs from Canada if their plan wouldn't pose additional safety risks to the public and would save consumers a significant amount of money. It goes into effect November 23.
