June 18: The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee holds its first public hearing on a draft bill intended to bring down healthcare costs. The draft, released by committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) in late May, addresses a variety of issues plaguing the industry, including price transparency and surprise billing. Alexander plans to move quickly, with the goal of a vote by the full Senate in July.
June 19: With the political battle over abortion intensifying nationwide, a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee turns its attention to Title X. A federal judge in April halted a Trump administration rule that would prohibit a clinic that provides abortions from receiving Title X funding. The rule is being challenged in court.
