Kevin Lofton - ACHE Gold Medal winner

Kevin Lofton, CEO of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, is one of two winners of the American College of Healthcare Executives' Gold Medal Award—the organization's highest honor. Lofton, 60, has been chief executive at 105-hospital CHI since 2003.

Lofton participates in his investiture ceremony in Washington to mark the beginning of his term as chairman of the American Hospital Association's board of trustees in May 2007.

In September 2010, Lofton was awarded the Pierre Toussaint Medallion, given annually by the Archdiocese of New York. The award, which was presented by Archbishop Timothy Dolan, is given to distinguished individuals in recognition of their leadership and extraordinary efforts in support of life, human rights, social justice, spiritual values and quality education for all. The medallion is named for the 18th century Haitian-born former slave who was renowned for his charitable work in New York City.
