Major healthcare companies including CVS Health, Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, Mayo Clinic, Mass General Brigham, Pfizer and McKesson Corp. are slated to participate.
Mayo Clinic is likely to discuss the start of construction this year on a $5 billion redevelopment project at its main campus in Rochester, Minnesota. The nonprofit health system has also invested significantly in hospital-at-home care, a growing emphasis of many providers, including Boston-based Mass General Brigham.
Other large health system attendees include Intermountain Health, the Salt Lake City-based nonprofit health system that is positioning its Graphite Health venture to be the “grounding point” for how AI can be used in healthcare. Cleveland Clinic representatives will likely discuss the nonprofit health system's efforts around generative AI as the clinic works with Microsoft to brainstorm administrative and clinical functions for GPT-4.
CVS and Walgreens will likely discuss the challenging pharmacy environment and their efforts to deliver more healthcare services, a growing trend among large retailers. In May, CVS acquired primary care provider Oak Street Health in a $10.6 billion deal and plans to add hundreds of clinics over the next couple of years. Walgreens is also delving into primary care with investments in VillageMD, although its healthcare strategy has hit some snags. Walgreens, which has seen high turnover in its C-suite, named Tim Wentworth as CEO in October.
Insurance giants Centene Corp. and Cigna Group take the stage Tuesday and are expected to discuss Medicare Advantage enrollment trends. Cigna is reportedly in talks with Health Care Services Corp. to sell its Medicare Advantage portfolio.
Some large health systems are not presenting, such as St. Louis-based Ascension, Oakland, California-based Kaiser Permanente, Charlotte, North Carolina-based Advocate Health, Renton, Washington-based Providence and Phoenix-based Banner Health.
Insurers UnitedHealth Group, Humana, Molina Healthcare and Elevance Health also won't be presenting.
Teladoc, which recently downplayed how much glucagon-like peptide 1 agonists alone will fuel growth of the digital health company’s weight management program, is scheduled to present Tuesday. GE HealthCare, which spun out from its massive parent organization General Electric last year, is also on Tuesday’s agenda.
On Wednesday, GoodRx, Oscar Health, Alignment Healthcare and Headspace Health are presenting. On Thursday, Talkspace and Clover Health will take the stage.
Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co., will lead a handful of keynote speakers, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
