The women in Modern Healthcare's 2025 class of Leading Women have made major contributions — steering acquisitions, directing strategic partnerships, designing cutting-edge technologies and spearheading revenue-boosting initiatives.
The honorees haven’t driven success just for their organizations, which include providers, payers, digital health startups, technology companies and major retailers. They’ve also taken steps to support other women through employee resource groups, mentorship and programs aimed at up-and-comers.

The 30 Leading Women and 10 Rising Stars in the class of 2025 are making lasting positive changes to the business of healthcare. We'll celebrate these women and their accomplishments in Chicago June 5 at our 15th annual Leading Women Conference & Awards Luncheon. A vanguard award, honoring a woman for her overall achievements in healthcare, will be announced prior to the event.
What is the Leading Women awards program?
The Leading Women awards program, formerly known as the Top Women Leaders program, honors women in the healthcare industry who are developing policy, leading change and guiding improvements in healthcare delivery.
All honorees currently work in healthcare, including at hospitals, health systems, providers, insurers, associations, government agencies, investment firms, vendors, supplier organizations, digital health startups and patients’ rights groups.
Who selected the honorees?
The editors of Modern Healthcare selected the honorees based on their achievements. We know there is a lot of talent in the industry, and not being selected one year does not preclude submitting a nomination in the future, so long as the other criteria are met.
Can an individual make the list more than once?
No. Women who were honored in our previous Top Women Leaders programs, except as a “Woman to Watch” or “Rising Star,” were ineligible for this year's award. Women cannot be selected as "Rising Stars" more than once.
Were nominees who were not selected notified?
No. Only winners were notified.
Is a celebratory event honoring the winners planned?
Yes. An event is planned for June 5 in Chicago. Find out more details and register here.
