Many of this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees were motivated to pursue a career in healthcare by watching family members navigate the medical system. Others took a particularly exciting class in college or got a push from a mentor who encouraged them to make a difference.
Regardless of how they got here, the individuals in Modern Healthcare’s 2025 class of 40 Under 40 have made their mark.

What is the 40 Under 40 awards program?
The program is designed to recognize the industry’s next leaders who are making notable achievements to improve their organizations and the industry.
Who selected the honorees?
The editors of Modern Healthcare selected the honorees based on their achievements. We know there is a lot of emerging talent in the industry, and not being selected one year does not preclude submitting a nomination in the future, so long as the other criteria are met.
Can an individual make the list more than once?
No. Previous 40 Under 40 awardees are ineligible for future Modern Healthcare 40 Under 40 awards. Previous Emerging Leaders or Up & Comers are also ineligible for the 40 Under 40 awards program.
Were nominees who were not selected notified?
No. Only winners were notified.
