Modern Healthcare is seeking nominations for our 40 Under 40 awards that recognize the industry’s rising stars and next generation of leaders.
The program builds upon our previous recognition programs for young professionals, including Emerging Leaders and Up-and-Comers.
Nominations are open and will be accepted through Dec. 11. We’re looking for influential young executives across all sectors of healthcare, including providers, payers, vendors, suppliers, government agencies and associations. To be eligible, nominees must be 40 years of age or younger as of Dec. 31, 2023.
In early 2024, Modern Healthcare will profile the 40 individuals selected who have made noteworthy contributions toward achieving their organization’s goals, establishing a culture of innovation and improving the patient experience.
The 2024 class of 40 Under 40 will be announced Feb. 12 and profiled on ModernHealthcare.com and in MH magazine.

What is the 40 under 40 awards program?
The program is designed to recognize the industry’s next leaders who are making notable achievements to improve their organizations and/or the industry, putting the patient front and center. We're looking for young executives who are not just trying to climb the corporate ladder but are looking to make a difference.
Who selects the honorees?
The editors of Modern Healthcare select the honorees based on their achievements. We know there is a lot of emerging talent in the industry and not being selected one year does not preclude submitting a nomination in the future, so long as the other criteria is met.
What deadlines should I know?
Nominations are due Dec. 11 and there will be no extensions. There is a $250 fee for each nomination. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee inclusion in the list. Nominees who are not selected will not be notified.
Can I apply if I previously was honored as an emerging leader?
If you’ve previously been recognized as an emerging leader by Modern Healthcare, you are not eligible for our 40 Under 40 awards program.
