Healthcare’s approach to equity has evolved. Some organizations have emphasized data to promote population-wide wellness, while others have partnered with local groups to try and close ongoing disparities in outcomes. Still others have turned their attention to advocacy, urging elected officials to take action on behalf of their patients, members or customers.
On Sept. 17, Modern Healthcare’s Health Equity Conference will provide a unique opportunity to hear from those making a difference at their organizations, in their communities and in the industry.
An opening keynote session will feature Dr. Omar Lateef, president and CEO of Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center. Other speakers include Ardent Health Chief Digital and Information Officer Anika Gardenhire; Advocate Health Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations for Community and Social Impact Brandi Newman; GuideWell Chief Health Equity Officer Dr. Kelli Tice; and Boston Children’s Hospital Senior Vice President and Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer Dr. Valerie Ward.
They’ll discuss the changing nature of the chief health equity officer’s role, how technology can reduce access problems and how to most effectively team with members of the public, among other issues. Attendees will leave the event armed with the intelligence to make a greater difference within their own organizations.
After the conference, Modern Healthcare will celebrate its 2024 class of Diversity Leaders at our evening awards gala.
