Modern Healthcare is accepting nominations for our Leading Women awards, designed to honor a new class of women each year who are making a positive impact on policy, care delivery and the business of healthcare.
The awards include two categories – Leading Women and Rising Stars – to celebrate women in all corners of healthcare who are leading change within their organizations and in the industry. We will also honor a Vanguard, recognizing a woman for her career achievements and impact.
Nominations are open now through Jan. 3, 2025.
Here’s what you need to know.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the awards, nominees must currently work in healthcare, including at hospitals, health systems, providers, insurers, associations, government agencies, investment firms, vendors, supplier organizations, digital health startups and patients’ rights groups.
Women who have been honored in our previous Top Women Leaders program, except as a “Woman to Watch” or “Rising Star,” are ineligible for Women Leaders. For our Rising Star awards, women previously recognized as a “Woman to Watch” or “Rising Star” are ineligible.
What are the categories?
To be named one of our Leading Women, we’re looking for executives who manage a team or otherwise have a leadership role and have made a positive impact on policy, care delivery and the business of healthcare. To be considered for Rising Stars, women must have made noteworthy accomplishments and have been in their current role for no longer than three years.
How much does a nomination cost?
The nomination fee is $250 to submit a name for consideration. A nomination does not guarantee selection.
How are the honorees selected?
The editors of Modern Healthcare will select the Leading Women and Rising Stars based on eligibility and the measurable impact nominees have made at their company and/or the healthcare industry in the past 12 months.
There is no nomination process for the Vanguard. The honoree will be selected by the editors based on factors that include her role in inspiring and mentoring others in the industry and how the impact of her work has blazed trails for other women.
When will the honorees be announced?
The honorees will be published online and in MH magazine on March 10, 2025.
Is a celebratory event honoring the winners planned?
Yes. An event is planned for June in Chicago.
Will nominees who are not selected be notified?
We will not notify those who have not been selected.
