The U.S. healthcare sector has been in a state of transition over the last few years. New regulations, medications, technologies and political environments mean companies must stay nimble to remain relevant. At the same time, the nature of healthcare requires organizations to keep their major priorities intact: delivering high-quality services in a sustainable, equitable and financially sound way.
Our 2024 class of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare honors the leaders who effectively balance these needs. They are shaping the industry through policies, regulations, lobbying and business decisions. Our honorees are C-suite executives guiding their organizations and discerning where to make investments to best serve the public while also boosting their bottom lines to keep the doors open.
This year’s top 10 honorees include three leaders of large national healthcare organizations with provider arms, including the person who holds the No. 1 spot on the list. It also includes leaders of two prominent federal agencies, as well as insurers, drug companies and a tech giant.
The list features 73 repeat honorees who have continued to wield influence over the years. For the 27 remaining leaders, it’s their first time being recognized, a sign of change in the industry and a reflection of the people and organizations whose influence has grown in the past 12 months.
