General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz back ICHRA-focused Thatch
Health benefits platform company Thatch hasraised $38 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was co-led by venture capital firms Index Ventures and General Catalyst. Venture capital firms SemperVirens, The General Partnership, Andreessen Horowitz and Avid Ventures also participated in the round.

Thatch sells a software platform to employers, which allows their employees to navigate individual coverage health reimbursement arrangement plans. Through ICHRAs, companies provide vouchers that employees use to purchase health insurance instead of enrolling in employer-sponsored group health plans.
Thatch said it will use the funding to hire additional employees and expand its technology platform. The company, which launched in 2023, said the round brings its total funding to $44.25 million.
Vesta Healthcare closes $65M in equity, debt
Vesta Healthcare, a virtual care provider group, closed a $65 million Series C round.
Approximately half of the round’s total is refinanced debt by Horizon Technology Finance Corporation, according to CEO Randy Klein.
The other half was equity led by investment manager RA Capital Management with participation from the venture arm of Oakland, California-based Kaiser Permanente and home healthcare company CareCentrix, which was acquired by Walgreens in 2022. Other venture capital firms participating in the equity round included Oak HC/FT, Chrysalis Ventures and Lux Capital.
Vesta Healthcare provides virtual care and technology for home care agencies and family caregivers. Vesta Healthcare will use the funds to expand its geographic footprint and clinical capabilities, Klein said. Vesta serves patients in 12 states.
Advocate Health co-leads round in data imaging company
Imaging data company Segmed announced it raised a $10.4 million Series A funding round.
The round was co-led by venture capital firm iGan Partners and Charlotte, North Carolina-based health system Advocate Health.
Segmed focuses on de-identifying and standardizing medical imaging data for research, life science, data management and medical device companies.
