Cortica takes in $80M from Morgan Health, others
Cortica, an autism-focused startup, is getting $80 million.
Morgan Health, a business unit of JPMorgan Chase, co-led the round along with venture capital firm Nexus NeuroTech Ventures. Venture capital firm Autism Impact Fund also participated.

Cortica uses data analytics and an in-house scheduling software platform while offering primary, specialty and behavioral care — as well as family wellness counseling, and applied behavior analysis and developmental therapies — to autistic children and their families.
It has in-home, telehealth and school-based programs and operates 24 applied behavioral analysis clinics across eight states. The company said in a release it will use the funds to scale its operations, contract with payers and extend its community services.
In April 2023, Cortica received $75 million in a Series D funding round led by Optum Ventures. It also acquired Springtide Child Development, a firm that operates six ABA clinics in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and the Melmed Center, a developmental pediatrics clinical and research group based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Zarminali Health launches with $40M from General Catalyst
Zarminali Health, a pediatric care-focused startup, received $40 million in a seed funding round. Venture capital firm General Catalyst was the sole investor.
With the funding, Zarminali said in a news release it is attempting to launch a national tech-enabled primary and specialty care practice for pediatric patients. The company was founded by Danish Qureshi, co-founder and former president of behavioral health company LifeStance Health.
In November, Zarminali opened its first practice in Michigan. A spokesperson said the goal is to have practices in the 30 most populous U.S. states.
General Catalyst announced an $8 billion raise in October, with more than $1 billion slated for healthcare-focused companies.
Synapticure’s investors include CVS Health, CommonSpirit
Synapticure, a virtual care company for neurodegenerative diseases, has closed a $25 million funding round led by B Capital, with new investors including CommonSpirit Health, CVS Health Ventures, RA Capital Management and Nexus NeuroTech Ventures. Read more.
OSF Healthcare, Providence ventures invest in TailorMed
TailorMed, a financial health tech company, raised $30 million in equity and $10 million in debt financing.
The round was led by virtual capital firm Windham Capital Partners. The investment arms of several health systems also participated: Providence Ventures, OSF Healthcare, Inception Health, Ballad Ventures, UH Ventures and UnityPoint Health Ventures.
The debt facility was led by Poalim-tech, part of Israeli bank Bank HaPoalim.
TailorMed has created a platform that looks to help providers and pharmacies detail the cost their patients will pay for certain medications. It also matches patients to any potentially applicable financial aid programs.
Citizen Health closes $14.5M round
Citizen Health, a consumer health artificial intelligence company, closed a $14.5 million seed funding round.
Venture capital firm Transformation Capital led the round, with participation from venture capital firm Wavemaker 360.
Citizen has built a clinical records platform for people navigating rare diseases. The platform aims to help patients find answers based on others' experiences while assisting researchers in accelerating drug development. Along with the funding, the company also announced a partnership with the nonprofit Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
World Class Health gets $8M for concierge care
World Class Health, a concierge care startup for employer clients, received $8 million in a seed funding round.
Venture capital firm AlleyCorp led the round. Other investors included incubators LifeX and Joyance, venture capital firm City Light, HippocraticAI.com Founder Munjal Shah, and Clover Health Founder Vivek Garipalli.
World Class Health connects patients to various contracted clinical centers of excellence for musculoskeletal, bariatric, cancer, cardiac, cell and gene therapy, fertility, and gender-affirming care. The company said in a release it provides concierge services for patients traveling to these centers of excellence, including helping them book flights and accommodations and providing transportation and onsite coordination guidance.
