Nine health systems, including Northwell Health and Memorial Hermann Health, System joined a digital consortium led by startup studio Aegis Ventures.
Aegis, which creates, invests and operates digital health companies, said Tuesday the consortium will develop, invest in and deploy digital health solutions.

The nine health systems participating are Stanford, California-based Stanford Health Care; Evanston, Illinois-based Endeavor Health; Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health; Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System; New Hyde Park, New York-based Northwell Health; Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based Novant Health; New Orleans-based Ochsner Health; Columbus, Ohio-based The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; and San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare.
The aim of the consortium is to create companies addressing clinical and operational pain points. Artificial intelligence-focused companies will be a theme of the consortium’s portfolio, according to Aegis.
Former Mayo Clinic CEO Dr. John Noseworthy will lead the consortium. Noseworthy was named executive chairman of Northwell Holdings-led company Caire in June 2023. Caire, a startup creation platform company, was launched in January 2023 by Northwell’s investment arm and Aegis Ventures.
Northwell Health has worked with Aegis since October 2021. In April 2022, they launched healthcare AI platform company Ascertain and imaging AI company Optain in May 2023.
Aegis named Oracle Health Chairman Dr. David Feinberg as its senior advisor in January. Feinberg has remained at Oracle Health while also working for Aegis.
