Ascension continues to experience disruptions in patient care as the health system investigates a potential data breach it reported Wednesday.
Local news reports have surfaced about patients waiting hours for medical procedures, ambulances diverting patients to other facilities and physicians losing access to medical records. Ascension acknowledged "clinical disruptions" in a Wednesday statement but has not provided additional details.

An Ascension spokesperson did not answer questions Thursday about the scope of the disruption and referred a reporter to the health system's website for updates.
The health system said Wednesday it had detected unusual activity on its technology network that it believed was related to a cybersecurity event. It alerted authorities and urged business partners to disconnect from Ascension's systems out of caution.
Ascension said Thursday it is still investigating whether sensitive patient information had been compromised. The system said it is notifying business partners.
St. Louis-based Ascension, which has 134,000 employees and 35,000 affiliated providers, operates 140 hospitals across 19 states and the District of Columbia.
