Beginning her career as a critical care nurse, Saunders first joined Wellstar as president of Kennestone Hospital in May 2007. From there, she began serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer of WellStar in 2013, prior to being named president and CEO two years later. A member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees, as well as chairing one of the AHA’s regional policy boards, Saunders has also helped launch Catalyst by Wellstar, a global digital health and innovation center.
