Wentworth, who joined Walgreens last year, has been seeking to cut costs, stabilize pharmacy operations and improve the company’s retail strategy amid a challenging operating environment. His push for a turnaround has included revamping Walgreens’ leadership team, appointing Mary Langowski as executive vice president and president of U.S. healthcare in February, Lanesha Minnix as global chief legal officer in April and Jason Stenta as inaugural chief commercial officer in October. Before being tapped to head Walgreens, Wentworth founded and led Evernorth, Cigna’s health services unit.
