Ubl has led the trade group for biopharmaceutical research companies since 2015. Under his leadership, PhRMA awarded $10 million to Yale University to support the creation and development of the Equitable Breakthroughs in Medicine Development program, which aims to encourage diverse participation in clinical trials. PhRMA also convened thousands of stakeholders to work with 10 clinical trial sites in underserved communities; the first locations were selected this year. Ubl has looked to foster a sense of belonging at PhRMA, offering development opportunities for staff at all levels through a partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership. He also serves on the National Health Council board and worked with NHC and the National Medical Association to launch the U.S. Consensus Framework aimed at promoting patient-beneficial collaborations.
