As Centene’s first woman CEO, London has overseen the rollout of a value-creation plan at the health insurance company. Under her leadership, Centene revamped its prior authorization system with the goal of making the process more efficient for doctors and members. In an effort to address social determinants of health, London announced in May the Centene Foundation is partnering to help build affordable housing in eight states. The foundation’s below-market-rate loans issued to a developer are expected to support nearly $1 billion in construction-related activity. Additionally, the foundation in October collaborated with a care management organization to support hurricane relief efforts in Georgia. London, who started at Centene in 2020, has held her current role since 2022. Before that, she served in leadership roles at Optum Ventures and Humedica.
