Vaezy is responsible for system-wide strategy and digital innovation at the Renton, Washington-based 51-hospital system operating in seven states. She heads the system’s Digital Innovation Group, which invests in, helps develop and tests technologies to address healthcare challenges. This year, Providence spun off Praia Health, a patient-engagement technology company incubated at the group, as an independent, venture-backed organization. Providence started using the Praia platform in 2022, and in the first year demonstrated that the technology saved far more money than it cost. Other ventures include DexCare, which manages the logistics of digital care delivery from search to scheduling, and Xealth, which supports digital health prescriptions.
