Pollack has represented the interests of thousands of providers as the head of the trade group since 2015. In 2024, the organization under his leadership worked on Capitol Hill to postpone or block policies that could negatively affect hospitals, such as reductions in Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital payments or changes to the 340B drug discount program. Additionally, the AHA collaborated with federal agencies including the FBI to support hospitals in preventing cyberattacks and addressing targeted violence in healthcare settings. Internally, the organization has looked to foster leadership development and camaraderie through the launch of the Next Gen @AHA initiative, six employee resource groups and a new career level guides program. Pollack has served on the steering committee for the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on Decarbonizing the U.S. Health Sector, among other roles.
