McCanna has committed to making quality care more accessible, convenient and affordable through an integrated delivery network comprising 52 hospitals, more than 1,300 care sites and a health plan. In fiscal 2024, the Dallas-based organization added 41 urgent care locations and boosted patient volume, along with securing a $14.9 million grant to expand the reach of its academic medical centers and bolster the talent pipeline. It also announced in October that it will be collaborating with three other large nonprofit health systems to form Longitude Health, a for-profit entity that plans to form startups focused on care coordination, revenue cycle management and pharmaceutical development. McCanna will serve as chair of the newly formed board. He also serves on the boards of University of Michigan Health and the Catholic Extension Society.
