Hoffman, who joined HealthPartners in 2022, was key to the formation of a community advisory council to provide the organization feedback on its initiatives. Hoffman pushed for council members to be paid for their time in an effort to reinforce HealthPartners’ equity-oriented values. Since then, the council has facilitated a health equity accreditation and identified funding to support its work, among other accomplishments. Hoffman’s work also contributed to Bloomington, Minnesota-based HealthPartners’ invitation to participate in a pilot aimed at providing holistic support to Native people, including addressing health systems’ barriers to meeting their needs.
